They provide about 7 million dollars dollars worth of orthopedic goods annually at no charge for children and adults in the developing world. Usually the request is from a missionary doctor over there. If the requested item is in their Harrisburg, PA processing and distribution center, it goes to a U.S. address to be taken overseas. Items to be donated can be sent to collection places in Florida, Michigan, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Maryland.

COCDC is an all-volunteer fellowship of orthopedic professionals who serve children and adults with physical impairments caused by land mines, birth defects, polio, or other reasons. They provide free surgery, limbs, braces, crutches, wheelchairs, walkers, and rehabilitative service in many countries.

COCDC is seeking to establish an internet and telemedicine system to bring orthopedic professionals in more materially advantaged countries and medical folks in the developing world into closer contact with each other.
