This Christian organization helps in over 30 countries and works with over 50 missionary and relief groups by "providing clean drinking water for the needy through low-tech and/or Technologically appropriate products and services." They have portable, non-motorized water drilling and purification equipment that costs between a few dollars and almost $1,000. Usually it can be built in the country where it will serve. HI offers technical support and is especially interested in remote locations where electricity is not available. Their website shows equipment, some plans for constructing and implementing it that you can download, and has links to other information and organizations involved in clean water for the developing world. |
