Often people on medical mission trips see patients who need a visiting specialist, and that specialist might have been available if he or she could have known about the situation in a timely manner.  MMEX "seeks to facilitate referrals of underserved patients in developing countries."  MMEX now focuses on Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Honduras, and Belize.  Other countries may be added later.  Regardless of where you may want to serve, Dr. Gerke's research may help.  The "links" section of his website has many names of medical missions, free and inexpensive medical supplies, and lots of other useful information.
