Since 1992, CFHI has enabled students in preparation for several fields of medical professions to go abroad.  This includes undergraduates, graduate students, and residents.  It is one of the largest programs of its kind anywhere.  Currently over 500 participants annually share their skills and have unique short-term opportunities in developing countries.  Working with 145 partner organizations (especially in Mexico, Ecuador, South Africa, India, and Bolivia), they get hands-on experiences as part of their medical education.  Small grants are possible, and arrangements are made to obtain and deliver medical supplies.  Applications are primarily from developed countries, but anyone worldwide may apply.
