HOPE sent over $70 million worth of donated products (mostly pharmaceuticals and other medical goods) to 44 countries in 2001. They have ongoing programs in many countries and can provide disaster relief whenever necessary. Usually they prefer shipping goods to places where HOPE personnel can meet the arriving cargo. They emphasize primary and preventive health care programs with emphasis on teaching local people to help themselves.
