HOPE has shipped nearly two billion dollars worth of humanitrian assistance throughout the world since their founding in 1958. They have ongoing programs in many countries and can provide disaster relief whenever necessary. Usually they prefer shipping goods to places where HOPE personnel can meet the arriving cargo. They emphasize primary and preventive health care programs with emphasis on teaching local people to help themselves.
