This Christian group has shipped over one billion dollars worth of medical supplies and food to over 100 recipient nations since 1979. Every year they send out over 100 volunteer teams (mostly medical—with over 1,500 participating in 2005-06). A major emphasis is serving in disaster areas.

MTI also emphasizes "Clinic Packs". These are specially-chosen medicines and common medical supplies for mission groups to carry overseas (see their website for description). They only ask for a donation to cover handling fees.
