Active since 1948, DRI sent over 200 million dollars (wholesale) worth of medicines and other medical goods to 59 countries in 2008. They have a large warehouse, and they send many large container shipments overseas. Assistance with costs may be requested.

Through cooperation with Bristol-Myers Squibb, they also enable U.S. physicians to get a "Medical Mission Box" with about 10 pounds of basic antibiotics for $25 to hand-carry abroad (enought to treat about 200 people).
